MM Monthly Thoughts: June 2016

I thought May was a crazy month in the world of Migrating Miss, but June may have blown the entire year of out of water!

Since my blog isn’t chronological, I like to keep a monthly update going so you can get to know me a little better and keep things in order.

Where am I?

I started the month where I’d been living in Almería in Spain, and I’m ending it back in one of my favourite places, Edinburgh! I’m using Edinburgh as my summer base and travelling from here. It’s been a pretty relaxed month of getting to know the city again and visiting some old favourites (looking at you Lovecrumbs), plus finding some new ones (looking at you Leith).

June was fairly stationary, with only three trips out of the city. A quick visit to West Kilbride, a day travelling one of my favourite places in Scotland, Glencoe, and a short weekend in London. If you follow Migrating Miss on Facebook and Instagram you’ll see more in time updates of these places!

What’s coming up?

Next month the hectic travel begins. I’m attending my first travel bloggers conference, TBEX in Stockholm. For a few days after the conference I’m going on a tour to the north of Sweden, which I’m so excited to do and to share with you! I’ll also be making a quick stop in Copenhagen, a city I’ve wanted to visit for a long time. Any tips most welcome, especially budget ones!

The big news…a surprise proposal!

Last weekend in London, I was completely shocked (in a good way!) when my boyfriend asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! I haven’t mentioned too much on this blog about having a boyfriend from a different country and being in a long distance relationship as I’ve focused more on the travel side of things, but it’s something I may start to talk about a little more. After all, travelling a lot and moving abroad often means meeting people from overseas too. This past week has been surreal and exciting!Migrating Miss Monthly Thoughts June 2016

Popular posts for the month of June

Turns out a lot of people want to know about the Things You Should Know Before Moving Abroad, not that any of them should change your mind if you’re thinking about it. If you have made the move, check out How to Make Your Home Abroad Feel Like Home.

Being back in Edinburgh means more Scotland posts, and this one about the Essential Sights on a Quick Visit to Edinburgh is all you need to show yourself around the city if you’re visiting at any time. Or take a look and see if I can’t convince you that you should!

I haven’t forgotten about Spain, and I reflected on my 5 months there so far with the 12 Things I’ve Learned Living in Spain, including some things you should definitely know if you’re planning to visit Spain at any point. I’m definitely missing the warmer weather in Almería, I don’t think anyone told Scotland it’s meant to be summer now…

Goals for July

I probably should note these goals somewhere other than the Monthly Thoughts, since I always forget what they are! Last month I said I’d practice Spanish everyday. That has definitely not happened I’m sad to say. I know how hard it is to learn a language even when you’re living abroad, so I definitely need to up the practice before I head back to Spain in October. I have written more about Scotland though, especially my beloved Edinburgh.

Here’s the next month:

  • Write more
  • Practice Spanish more
  • Get to know my readers more

You can help me with that last one! If you read this, please communicate with me in some way! Whether it’s a comment somewhere on social media or on here, I love to hear from people and help out with any travels or thoughts on moving abroad.

As always, thanks for stopping by and please let me know if you did!

Thank you!! :D. I have kept it rather on the download, only mentioning once or twice in these kind of posts. I might write more about it sometime, but at the same time it’s kind of nice not to haha. xx
